Printing
HistoryPrinting in Veszprém started by the foundation of the printing shop of József Streibig- more than 200 years ago - in 1789.
The foundation of the first printing shop was followed by others and generally there were 2-3 printing shops working in the town. Nationalization in December 1949 covered three printing houses. In 1952, through the merger of these printing houses and those in other towns of the county, the Veszprém County Printing Company was established.
The task of the company was an almost full scale satisfaction of the printing needs of the county, i.e. the product mix included business cards, business forms, books through the printing of the county's daily paper.
Following the transformation period, the company was one of the first enterprises within the printing sector to be privatized and on 1 July 0991 the Veszprém Nyomda Kft [Veszprém Printing Limited Liability Company] was founded, and transformed into a company limited by shares on 1 April 1992.
Technology and product mix have undergone significant changes corresponding to the market requirements and opportunities. By the capital increase of an investor from Switzerland in 1993 the colour offset rotary technology was introduced, as a consequence of which - with the later implemented investments - the Veszprém Nyomda Rt possesses now with significant capacities mainly in the field of colour periodicals, business catalogues, leaflets.
Veszprém Nyomda Rt acquired ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 quality assurance and environmental management certificates in 2001 proving that they are able to satisfy the highest technological and service needs.
